Holiday packing

A holiday packing list everyone can tick off

Start from a full packing list, split it between the people going, and tick things off as they go in the case. Everyone sees what is packed and what is still on the side.

Several shared lists, each with counts of open items
Adding an item with a due date, an assignee and a reminder

How a packing list looks

Group it the way you pack: documents first, then each person’s things, then the bits everyone forgets.

  1. 1Make a packing listAdd categories for documents, each person’s clothes, toiletries and tech.
  2. 2Invite whoever is goingSend the link in the holiday group chat, or show the QR code.

What makes it work

The Add Item sheet with Quantity, Category, Due date, Repeat, Reminder, Assign, Priority and Description

Add exactly what you need

Quantity and unit, category, due date, repeat, reminder, who it is for, priority and a note. Each is one tap away when you add an item, and out of the way when you don’t need it.

Why a shared list helps

Split the packing

Put a name against each item, so everyone knows what they are bringing and nothing gets packed twice.

Ticked off as it goes in

Tick things off as they go in the case. The list updates on everyone’s phone straight away, so you can see what is left from the other room.

Works with no signal

Tick things off at the airport or in the hire car with no connection. It all syncs when you are back online.

The jobs before you go

Add the things to sort before the day, like booking the airport parking or finding someone to feed the cat, with a date and a reminder.

The complete family holiday packing list

Documents and money: passports (check they are valid for at least six months after you travel), boarding passes or tickets, travel insurance details, driving licence if you are hiring a car, bank cards and some local currency, and copies of the booking confirmations.

Clothes, for each person: enough underwear and socks for the trip plus a spare, T-shirts and tops, shorts or trousers, something warmer for the evenings, swimwear, a light waterproof, pyjamas, and comfortable shoes plus sandals or flip-flops.

Toiletries and medicines: toothbrushes and toothpaste, sun cream and after-sun, insect repellent, deodorant, shampoo, any prescription medicines with enough for the whole trip, painkillers, plasters and travel sickness tablets.

Tech: phones and chargers, plug adaptors for the country you are going to, headphones, a power bank for the journey, and downloaded films or games for anyone who needs entertaining.

For the kids: snacks and drinks for the journey, a small bag of activities, their favourite toy or comforter, a hat, and spare clothes in the hand luggage.

Before you leave: book the airport parking, arrange someone to look after pets and plants, empty the fridge, take the bins out, and set the heating. Put these on the list with a date so they get done in the days before, not on the morning you go.

Reviews

Loved by the people who use it

4.8from 94 ratings on the App Store
“It takes the stress out of shopping and my family love it too! The categories are really useful for navigating the supermarket … This has also been really great for the family chores... especially because you can assign tasks to individuals on your list (no excuses!).”
